I am a Turkish convert to the Catholic faith. I am married and father of one. I have a Sacred Theology Baccalaureate degree (which includes 2 years of Catholic philosophy and 3 years of theology) from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome and currently I am doing Licentiate in the same University. I am also a lay Dominican, the founding president of St Thomas Aquinas Lay Chapter in Angelicum. I choose St. Thomas Aquinas as my master and primary source for my studies so I can say that I am a Thomist philosopher and theologian.
I do Turkish translations of prayers, spiritual and doctrinal works of the Catholic Church. My aim is to present people orthodox Catholic doctrines and spirituality, which are inseparable. This way faithful can grow in their faith and people who are searching can find true knowledge about our faith. There is great disinformation in the media about the Catholic faith. As Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen says, “There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate The Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.” The same can be said for the whole world! I am trying to introduce our faith to people so that they can see the truth because our Lord said: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32). We need to dispel the darkness of ignorance so that faith can flourish. Faith needs illumination of the mind like a seed needs sun light to grow.
I also have a degree in management and used to work in our family business but quit that job to serve our Lord and His Church. My plan is to finish my studies (have a doctorate in Sacred Theology) and become a professor of theology. You can find my conversion testimony here.
